Description:Lockett's Lane runs between Uttoxter Road and Normacot Road at the east end of Longton. This photograph was taken looking southwards from teh corner of Uttoxeter Road. The bottle oven on the right stood on the site of Lockett's Pottery, now demolished. In the left corner was the Sailor Boy Inn. The building slightly modified still stands on the corner.

Lockett's Lane had a reputation for some of the poorest housing conditions in the Potteries at the start of the 1900s. The 1960s saw a major clearance programme and the lane area is now the site of light industry.
