Description:Slippery Lane ran south from Clough Street to Robson Street and onto Sun Street. This photograph was taken from Clough Street with the Ascot and Vulcan potworks of Alcock, Lindley and Bloore each side of Slippery Lane. At the bottom, on Robson Street, is A G Hackney's Fairfield Pottery. The company subsequently became part of Steelite. The works have been demolished.
