Description:The camera is looking eastwards along Spark Street (Park Street until the 1950s renaming) down towards London Road. At the bottom is the frontage of the Minton pottery works with one of the bottle ovens just poking above the range fronting onto London Road. Demolished in 2002, the works became the site for a supermarket. Beyond is the spoil tip and winding gear of Glebe Collieries in Fenton (the landscaped tip is now Glebedale Park).
Spark Street houses date from the middle of the 19th Century. The houses on the left were slightly upmarket, with small "front garden" areas. The houses on both sides of the road have been demolished and the sites cleared.
