Description:This was the view from Trentham Station, looking north towards Stoke, taken from under the bridge that carried Trentham Road over the railway line. The Trentham Park branch (to Trentham Gardens) went off to the left, out of sight beyond the signal box.

Trentham Station opened in 1848, with the Trentham Park branch opening in 1910. As the station was the closest to Trentham Hall, the home of the Duke of Sutherland, the station buildings were rebuilt in the 1850s to a "Trentham Italianate" design by Charles Barry (of Houses of Parliament fame). The buildings differ from the usual North Staffordshire Railway "Tudor" style. The Duke of Sutherland had private waiting rooms on both platforms. The station closed in 1964 following the Beeching Report, the site has been cleared and is now woodland.
