Date:August 1964

Description:This photograph was taken from the old Clayton bridle track, looking west towards the back of the houses on Buckmaster Avenue. The Lyme Brook runs across the photograph, marked by the line of bushed beyond the cabbage fields. Here, the Lyme Brook marks the edge of the City, with Newcastle beyond.

Buckmaster Avenue houses were built by 1940. The area in the foreground is now part of Lyme Valley Park.
