Description:The North Staffs Medical institute stands on Harsthill Road. Opened in April 1965, it was nearing completion at the time of this photograph. The centre was one of the first purpose built post graduate medical training and research centres in Britian, with library, laboratories, pathology museum and teaching facilities. The building was largely funded by public appeal. With the growth of the nearby medical school, the building has become the North Staffs Conference Centre.
