Date:November 1963

Description:A photograph looking northwards along Sandbach Road in Cobridge taken from the junction with Leek New Road. Moorcoft's pottery factory is in the centre, the home of the company since 1913.

On the right hand edge is the corner of the Progress Foundry, metal casters. The foundry has closed and the land redeveloped for commerce. On the left hand side is the access road to Cobridge Station on the Potteries Loop Line. The station buildings are just along the lane, with the signal box visible beyond. The station was located between Elder Road and Sandbach Road and closed in 1964 when the passenger service on the Loop was withdrawn. The trackbed is now a footpath.
