Description:The camera is looking northeast along what was Harvey Street in the 1890s, later Sneyd Terrace and now named Lingard Street. At the top end today is Stoke on Trent College's Burslem campus. On the right is the old Arrowsmith, Harvey & Goddard potworks (Harvey Pottery), which for a time was part of Gibson's Pottery. The building still stands, with a different use. Gibson's occupied the works from 1885 until the 1950s. They also operated the Albany Pottery, which is just off the left side of the photograph, facing onto Moorland Road. Gibson's were famous for making the largest teapot in the world which could hold over 1000 cups. The terraced housing on the right dates from the last quarter of the 19th century.
