Date:November 1963

Description:MacIntyre Street runs east off Waterloo Road in Burslem, becoming Podmore Street at the bottom. The Phoenix Works of Meirswann Ltd is at the far end. The company, established in 1871, manufactured colours for the pottery industry.
This view is much changed today. The mid 19th century terraced houses on the left have been demolished. On the right was was the Washington china and earthenware works. This too has gone. The street lamps show a mixture of modern electric and old gas lamps.
