Description:Looking towards Henry Richards Tile Works (the Pinnox Works) from slightly higher ground to the west. On the extreme right hand side, the signals on the Potteries Loop Line to Tunstall are just in shot. the tall chimney in the centre is marked HRT. Much of the land to the left hand side is now part of retail parks in Tunstall. The terraced housing in the foreground is part of the Pinnox Street neighbourhood.

Tiles were manufactured at the Pinnox Works from 1903, although there had been a potworks on the site since the 1840s. The factory was extended in the early 20th century and this remained Richard's main site until the Brownhill Works were opened in 1934. The company merged with H & R Johnson in 1968.
