Description:The building in the centre of the photograph is the old Christ Church National School, built in 1839 and enlarged in 1871. It subsequently became the Parish Hall. Madison Street was formerly King Street. This part of Madison Street has been cleared and redeveloped for housing. The Ford Thames Trader lorry belongs to the NCB (National Coal Board).
