Description:A panoramic view west from Holywall lane in Goldenhill over the Fowlea Brook Valley towards Bradwell Woods. On the left hand edge is Westport Lake and the lines of coal trucks mark the route of the main railway line to the Harecastle Tunnels. The photograph was taken around about the time when the line was being electrified and the line diverted to avoid the tunnels. The large white house is close to the canal and railway tunnels entrances. Chatterley Station was in the dip in the middle of the photograph.
Running through the centre of the photograph is the ridge of Bradwell Woods with the string of houses on the skyline.
To the right is the large waste tip linked to the collieries in Talke (Rookery and Jamage). In the centre are the buildings and marl pits of the Golden Vale Tileries.
