Two spoil tips from Sneyd Green, Stoke-on-Trent

Description:The view north from the junction of Milton Road and Repington Road in Sneyd Green. In the far distance is Chatterley Whitfield spoil tip with the tip belonging to Norton Colliery in front. To the right of the photograph is Daisy Bank Bridge carrying the A53 (Leek New Road) over the valley of Ford Green Brook with more spoil tips behind.

The waste tips have been reclaimed and redeveloped. The Chatterly Whitfield tip has been landscaped and forms part of the Whitfield Valley Nature Reserve. Norton Colliery has been landscaped and redeveloped as mixed housing, retail and open space. The land in the immediate foreground is the site of the Excel Academy School. On the horizon to the right is the higher ground of Norton Lane.
