Description:Ford Green Road, looking north east from near Smallthorne roundabouts. The building on the left hand side of Ford Green Road in the centre of the photograph is the Methodist New Connexion Chapel. The present building dates from 1874, replacing an earlier building on the same site. with a Sunday school room on the ground floor and the chapel above. It is today the Salem Methodist Church. Just this side is The White Hart public house.
Bert Bentley names the building on the corner of Kinver Street (formerly King Street) as Sneyd Bank House with a tablet dating it to 1873. Ford Green Road was formerly Leek Road and drops down to Ford Green before climbing up to Norton in the Moors in the distance. St Batholomew's Church tower is visible on the horizon. The left hand side of then road was built up by 1880 with the terraced houses on the right being built between then and 1899.
