Description:Looking from Puddy Lane across the mill pond towards the old mill house in Stanley. The village has a long history of flint and corn mills dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Some mills ground both flint and corn. The mill in the photograph was originally a flint mill but was converted into a gelatine works in the 1890s but disused by the 1920s. It was later converted into a house. The mill pond is fed by Stanley Pool.
