Description:The large Georgian house, Mayfield Villa stands on Stanley Road on the north bank of the Caldon Canal. Mayfield is a grade II listed red brick house, dating from the early 19th century. The house is T shaped with a concrete tiled roof . and the windows are described as having "painted wedge heads with a raised central section under cusped dripmoulds". The house has a Serlian or Venetian central first floor window and the five panel front door has a moulded surround and pediment on consoles.
