Date:June 1964

Description:Looking west along Lockwood Street (formerly Victoria Street) from close to its junction with Baddeley Green Lane. In the distance, the square tower of Norton Church is the highest point visible. At the bottom of the road is The Victoria, an Inde Coope public house which stood on Leek New Road (A53). The building still stands as it was although with a different use.

Of the three light vans inn the photograph, the one on the right is a Standard Triumph Atlas.

The terraced houses remain much the same, although the shop is now a dwelling. The two ladies are talking at the entrance to the alleyway that lead through to Regent Street (now Felsted Street).
