Description:Level Crossing and crossing house at Birches Head Road on the Biddulph Vlalley/Stoke to Leek branch line. The camera is looking south. Birches Head road was known as Horse Lane until the 1920s. The Caldon Canal is just off to the left of the photograph. The line closed to traffic in 1968; track has been removed and the cottage demolished.
