Description:Hill & Ainsworth's shop and works was on the corner of Glebe Street and Copeland Street. The company dates from 1908 and were printers, stationers, bookbinders and booksellers. Hill & Ainsworth evolved from another local printing firm: Vyse & Hill who were also based in Stoke.
Just next door is a traditional men's hairdressers with the characteristic red and white barber's pole and advert for "Brylcreem". In 1910 the proprietor was Ernest Haywood. The driving School car turning left into Glebe Street is a Triumph Herald Saloon. This junction is now much changed, the area in the photograph lying beneath the A500 (Queensway).
