Description:A view north along London Road towards the centre of Stoke with Minton's Old Factory on the right. Minton had a factory on this site from the 1790s until closure in 2002. Supermarkets now occupy the site. The three bottle ovens once stood behind a factory range fronting onto London Road. By the time of the photograph, demolition of the site had already begun.

The factory produced cream-coloured and blue-printed earthenware maiolica, bone china, and Parian porcelain. It is said that Minton's was the most popular supplier of dinnerware made to order for embassies and heads of state in the nineteenth century.
