Description:A view north along Mayne Street, formerly High Street, Hanford. Coming in from the right is Wilson Road. In the centre right of the photograph is the traditional sign of The Abercrombie public house, now demolished. The open land to the left of Mayne Street has been developed for housing. In the far distance is the higher ground of Newcastle and the tower and chimney of the old City General Hospital.
