Description:Photograph taken from the Bull's Head Inn, looking North-West along St. Martin's Lane. St John's Church is in the distance.

The New Market Works stood between St. Martin's Lane and Chancery lane. There were pottery works on this site by 1815, when it was occupied by Martin & Shaw. By 1863 it was owned by Skelson & Plant and was renamed after the New Market which was built at this time.
