Description:Photograph taken from Market Street. The Market Street works were believed to be the oldest potbank in Longton and were founded by the Cyples family in about 1784. Cyples were succeeded by Thomas Barlow in 1849.

This photograph also shows the sign for Brassington's shoe shop on the corner .
