TheChinese style became increasingly popular in Europe from the late 16th century onwards, influencing designs of furniture, silverware and architecture.Chinese porcelain was of great interest to European potters, who copied the blue and white decorative patterns on the wares. This style was popular during the 18th and 19th centuries. The plate was excavated at St. Paul's Church, Burslem in 1974.
