Description:Times Square, Longton. The railway runs from Stoke to Derby, and winds its way around the back of the town and towards the tunnel at Meir.

The building on the left is the Crown & Anchor Hotel. It was built for use by rail passengers in 1870. In the centre of the photograph can be seen the Dorothy Café, a popular eatery in the 1940s, 50s and 60s.
