Description:This notice outlines the aims of the Association for the Prosecution of Felons, formed in the Potteries in order "to bring Offenders of every description to condign punishment."

Rewards

There are a series of rewards on offer to witnesses for information leading to a conviction:

  • For information on Stealing Coals from Carts:

  • - On commitment by a Magistrate: £1 1s
    - On conviction: £5 5s

  • For information about the receivers of stolen coals:

  • - On commitment by a Magistrate: £1 1s
    - On conviction: £5 5s

  • For information about stealing any colour from any mill or manufactory or embezzling the same:

  • - On commitment by a magistrate: £1 1s
    - On conviction: £5 5s

    For information about "stealing utensils and earthenware belonging to Manufactories, or committing any depredations thereon - implements of husbandry, Geese, Ducks, Fowls, Breaking or Damaging Gates, Stiles, Hedges, or any kind of Trespass, robbing gardens etc: £3 3s

    For information about Highway Robbery, House Breaking, Horse Stealing etc: £20
