Fettling is the name given to the pottery-making process of smoothing out any surface blemishes on the clay after casting.
This set of tools belonged to a caster named Phillis Alcock.

A Steredent tube containing 3 fettling knives and a scalpel.
A vitamin tube containing scalpel blades.
