Description:This photograph was taken from Longton Train Station depicts the Phoenix Works bottle ovens of the original Thomas Forester factory built in 1879 & closed in 1959. The site has had many uses and occupants one of whom was John Shaw & Sons Ltd who used it to make Burlington China Florals, Pottery factory exterior including bottle ovens.

Kirkland Properties Ltd appear to be the present owners who have considerably redeveloped the entire complex which as an impressive frontage in King St, Longton.
