Description:Disruption to rail services through engineering work is nothing new - as this photograph clearly shows.

In 1914, the North Staffordshire Railway decided to double their capacity at Leek by adding an extra track.

Here, a crane and its crew go to work on creating an additional arch for a bridge, in order to accommodate the extra line.
