Description:Oakamoor railway station, pictured during the 1950s. This style of architecture was a signature of the North Staffordshire Railway.

Varying examples of outstanding NSR architecture still survive today on the main line at Stone and Stoke-on-Trent.

At Cheddleton, the old station has a new lease of life as part of a heritage railway and visitor attraction, which still operates regular steam services.

The building was deliberately set ablaze in the 1970s and soon after demolished.

All that remains today are the two platforms.
