Description:A member of British Railway staff, Mrs Rita Ecclestone, Clerk and Porter at Oakamoor Station, taking a moment's ease at Oakamoor station during the 1950s. This station was in a delightful setting, deep in a small, quiet valley, despite the fact that Bolton's Copper Works was close by. Now the station site is a haven for ramblers and day trippers arriving by car or on foot. Only the platforms remain of this once-peaceful country station.
