Date:30th of April 1960

Description:Royal Scot locomotive number 46101, named Royal Scots Grey, pulls into Stoke railway station with a service to London in April 1960.

These distinctive red locomotives were a common sight in the Potteries. Weighing over 84 tons, some had served for over 30 years.

All were rebuilt in the 1940s and 1950s, but most were withdrawn during 1962 to make way for electrical power.
