Description:The Petrifactions can be found at Cotwalton Drumble. Petrifaction occurs when minerals in flowing water build up over time to form features. There is no evidence of petrifaction at Cotwalton Drumble, rather the waterfall and undercut embankment (on the left) have been created by erosion of the soft sandstone strata.
